What does it mean
The Form 1040 Tax Return is the form used to determine the taxable income of an individual.
Why does it matter
The Form 1040 will be a banker's most frequently reviewed tax form because it is the form used for all individuals. In a 1040, a banker can determine the following income sources:
- Wages
- Interest Income (Schedule B)
- Retirement Income
- Business Income
- Rental Income (Schedule E)
- Etc
