Lease

What does it mean

A lease is a contract between two parties, the landlord (lessor) and the tenant (lessee), where the landlord grants access to an asset for a specific period. The tenant makes periodic payments to the landlord throughout the lease duration.

Why does it matter

The Tenant/Landlord relationship is a very common agreement in business; so it is best to understand the terminology because it will come up frequently.

Real Estate Leases can come in 3 common flavors:

  1. Single Net Lease (N)
  2. Double Net Lease (NN)
  3. Triple Net Lease (NNN)

A bit about me

Greetings! I'm Clay Sharkey, and there is nothing I like more than assisting others in achieving their goals. I firmly believe that by enhancing a banker's understanding of their customer's' business, they can provide superior service. This superior service, in turn, leads to stronger relationships for the bank, improved performance for the businesses, and better experiences for our communities.  Win-win-win.
